Editor Overview

The Learnitive editor is a multi-file writing workspace built around ordinary Markdown and LaTeX project files.

Multi-file documents

Open files from the project tree and keep several files open as tabs. Closing a tab never deletes its underlying file.

File tree

Create, rename, move and delete files and folders from project controls. Open tabs reconcile with file operations so document identity stays consistent.

Markdown

Use Markdown source when you want direct control and the visual/WYSIWYG surface when you want a document-oriented writing experience. Both edit the same project content.

LaTeX

LaTeX projects add Source, Visual and PDF workflows for academic writing, mathematics, citations and long documents.

AI and research tools

AI Writer, local AI/BYOK providers, Paper Memory, AI Review and Deep Research can assist the document workflow while your project files remain the source of truth.
