Source math

Inline math, display math and equation environments remain ordinary LaTeX. Source mode is the authority for custom macros and package-specific notation.

Visual math

Supported math regions can use the equation editing experience. The resulting edit maps back to the corresponding canonical source region.

Unsupported syntax

When an expression cannot be represented safely in the visual tool, keep it source-backed rather than rewriting it into a different formula.

Compile to verify

The TeX compiler remains the final authority for whether the mathematical source is valid and how it renders.
